It's a move that goes directly against the terms of service, so be sure to keep that in mind before signing up for either one. In the US, the music-streaming service is raising the price of the family plan from 14.99 to 15.99 on Friday, April 30. In Europe, the family plan will increase three euros to 17.99 (21.73) per month. Spotify notes that the accounts must all be used by people living under the same roof, meaning they aren't intended to be shared by people living in different places. The Spotify Family plan is increasing by two euros, to £16.99 (20.52). The only catch with the Duo and Family plans is the wording that comes with them. For families of all shapes and sizes, the Family plan offers tremendous value. Using a Family account with three people would bring the per-person cost down to $5.33 while using all six accounts would lower it to only $2.66. For the Family plan, it's in a pretty similar boat. Whether users take advantage of all six available accounts or just three, it still results in a cheaper monthly rate. Considering it's cheaper than two Individual plans and includes all of the same features, there's no reason not to sign up for it. Duo is a fantastic choice for couples or roommates, with each person getting their own fully-featured Premium account for just $6.50 per person. For people that do live with others, the Duo and Family plans offer potentially massive savings. ![]()
